<p>This has proven to be a great activity that&#8217;s loved by kids everywhere, and there are other benefits that come with choosing soccer too. Let&#8217;s go into a few of them here.</p>
<p>To begin with, soccer can help to build a good sense of balance in your child when you consider that the game is all about leg action, but it can also promote hand eye coordination and train them to know how to react fast in a given situation.</p>
<p>Leg strength is another obvious benefit. Through running around and kicking a ball across the field, their leg strength will build very quickly relative to other sports, not to mention the fact that the constant moving around the field does the same.</p>
<p>Playing soccer is all about the team and as your child learns to play well they will also be learning useful social skills that will be in constant use throughout their lives. Learning to work in a team and build on team spirit will contribute massively to building their character.</p>

<p>If one studies the martial arts solely as a sport, he engages in contest, and that actually defines the difference between sport and art. If one practices the martial arts as art, he is attempting to conquer the part of him which resists and fights. Subdue the self, or subdue another, it is easy to see the difference.</p>
<p>If one is attempting to subdue another, he is holding the world responsible for his problems, not taking responsibility. Wether the accumulation of wealth, or just trying to beat somebody down, the student is not using the art the way it was designed, as a mirror for the soul. It is the soul, the individual, the spirit, the I AM that is the point of the martial arts, not defeating somebody else.</p>
<p>When one is doing the art as sport, he is creating the strongest body, and then tossing that body to destruction. When one is doing the art as art, he is obsessed with finding out the truth about himself and what this thing called life is really all about. He is engaged in defining what impulse is behind the muscle and quiver of fighting his fellow man, and then defeating that impulse</p>
<p>This all said, the True Martial Way can be defined by the degree of motion within the art. A young man indulges in the large motion of Karate and Shaolin and that type of art. As the student ages, he practices tai chi, slowing his motion down, looking at it, trying to take responsibility for his every action.</p>
<p>Eventually, man becomes tired, still, and begins to think life. At this point he has become motionless, a person who watches motion, and this is where he finds the truth. In motionlessness, he sees the truth of himself.</p>
<p>When one does Yoga one is exercising, making the body strong, but not through mock fighting. This does create a weakness, as the universe is motion, and we should study motion to understand life. That one weakness aside, yoga does encourage progression to the heart of the matter.</p>
<p>Putting the body in postures, breathing, watching, we slowly become aware of who is doing the watching, who is creating the posture. We find the I AM that is behind all the motion of the universe, and thus we become spiritual, souls, individuals unique and creative and filled with passion. We could wait, and grow old, or we could pursue violence until we run out of violence, or, we could just accelerate the process with yoga, through posture and slow breathing, and find out who we really are.</p>

<p>Below are some tips to getting shape in 2010 while saving money:</p>
<p>1. You do not need to join a gym to lose weight and tone your muscles. You can get in shape by adding exercise to your daily routine. You can try to walk more, jog, and ride a bike. As well, if you have a dog, take it to a park everyday for some exercise. Most experts suggest that people should walk 1-2 miles per day at a vigorous pace to keep healthy. Take the time to do some sit- ups and push-ups everyday. Use a strong tree branch to do some chin-ups. As well, you can do some stretching exercises during television commercials. When you are out doing errands, shopping, or going to the office, use the stairs instead of an elevator or escalator. Make exercise your hobby and not a chore.</p>
<p>2. If you have extra money to set up a small home gym, consider buying used gym equipment. There are many people looking to sell their treadmills, stationary exercise bikes, and old weights. Check your local classifieds in the newspapers and online. You can usually get some really great deals on used exercise equipment.</p>
<p>3. Gather friends or family to participate in a sports activity such as football, baseball, volleyball, and basketball. You can also go hiking and rowing. Picking an activity that you love will make getting in shape more fun.</p>
<p>4. Participate in a charity event such as walk-a-thon and dance marathon. Check your local community organizations to see what they are planning. Taking a friend will help keep you motivated. You will get in shape and help someone in need</p>
<p>5. Check your local library and Youtube for exercise videos you can learn. As well, there are many exercise programs offered on television such as aerobics, dance type exercises, and yoga. You can also do basic home exercises such as skipping, jumping jacks, sit-ups, and push-ups at home.</p>
<p>6. Giving your home a thorough cleaning will burn calories and tone the muscles. Scrubbing floors, walls, and vacuuming, exercises many muscles. Not only will you get in shape and save money, but you will have a fresh and clean house.</p>
<p>Most experts recommend that you should get at least 30 minutes of robust exercise three times a week. Fortunately, if you are on a tight budget, there are many different and fun ways to shed the holiday pounds and get in shape in 2010.</p>

<p>We don&#8217;t often consider that a healthy personal lifestyle, relating to fitness and nutrition, has an impact on the environment and the global biosphere. But our personal choices and actions do matter. Our life-affirming choices to get fit, be fit, and eat right affect everyone and everything around us. How you get to work is a perfect example.</p>
<p>Of course, most of us drive to work, as it&#8217;s a lifetime habit, and we do not even think about it. But, driving always produces greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions &#8211; every gallon of gas burned pumps 17 pounds of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.</p>
<p>Biking to work and walking to work are fitness-promoting activities that have a double benefit.1,2 You are exercising on your workdays and you&#8217;re actively helping to reduce GHG emissions and stabilize the Earth&#8217;s climate.</p>
<p>If it&#8217;s too far to walk or bike to your place of employment, arrange to car pool with co-workers and walk or bike to their house on the days when you are not the designated driver. Planting a garden or participating in the activities of a community garden is a health-promoting action step that has a triple benefit.</p>
<p>First, you&#8217;re producing or helping to produce foods that are grown locally. Foods that are consumed in the United States travel an average of 1500 miles to reach your local supermarket. Foods grown locally eliminate almost all of the fossil fuel resources required to transport non-local items.</p>
<p>Second, you&#8217;re adding really fresh vegetables to your family&#8217;s diet, providing vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals required for abundant good health.</p>
<p>Third, gardening is exercise &#8211; the kind of exercise people used to get when they did not sit in chairs at desks all day long.</p>
<p>The benefits of health-promoting activities keep on coming.3 For the most part, healthy people don&#8217;t wind up in the local hospital emergency room. Resources saved include fossil fuels burned by high-speed ambulances, fossil fuels burned to produce electricity used to power life-saving medical devices, and energy utilized to produce the vast amounts of medical supplies consumed in an emergency procedure, including syringes, IV set-ups, and towels, wipes, and disinfectants.</p>
<p>Being a healthy individual as a member of a healthy family has a huge multiplying effect. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I live close to a beautiful park and, every day, I see groups of individuals enjoying themselves with what has become a favorite recreation here in my neighborhood &#8212; the Frisbee. This seeming craze has given me the thought to try to to a little bit of my own analysis on this glorious game. It&#8217;s really quite interesting.</p>
<p>Everyone know that a Frisbee is the saucer shaped object that is used to used to toss back and forth. Frisbees are most generally made from plastic and a built in a variety of sizes the most common of which are between 8 and 10 inches.</p>
<p>These are designed to fly through the air very aerodynamically with just a flick of the wrist providing them some rotation. Playing toss back with a Frisbee is pretty much the same as tossing back and forth a baseball, but doing so with a Frisbee is a lot more fun.</p>
<p>There is a large selection of different types and styles of Frisbees that you can buy from both online merchants as well as regular stores. You can also get discs designed for the game of disc golf. These are made with a bit more density and have a smaller size than your regular Frisbee as the needs are a bit different for them than just your average Frisbee.</p>
<p>When the people who make Frisbees saw how much fun individuals have throwing their Frisbees for their dog, they decided to make a Frisbee for this purpose as well in that it is a lot more pliable and less likely to hurt the animals mouth and at the same time last a lot longer as the dogs teeth do not it nearly as quick. With this came the next evolution of the game which brought the Frisbee catching dogs into the limelight as they were allowed to compete against other dogs to show off their Frisbee catching prowess.</p>
<p>The developers of Frisbees it seem never stop expanding the options of this fantastic game as the next step was a disc shaped like the ring around a planet. these are known as aerobies and usually have a much better distance capability than does a regular Frisbee. A really cool invention that came out recently is the lighted Frisbee which takes the game into the dark. What fun tripping around in a field at night trying to throw and catch a lighted disc. It really is fun. Aptly named as a flashlight disc, it give you the ability to continue playing long after the sun disappears behind the hills.</p>
<p>There is actually a wide array of different games that utilize flying discs. It is really amazing the intuitiveness of those who truly have a passion for a game and wish to expand on it. You can see this in Frisbee by the fact of all of the different variations that can be played. Well, we&#8217;re in luck because the squat also produces a large benefit to the abs due to the need to keep the body straight while balancing a weight on your shoulders, that is required when doing the squat. Just keep your abs tense and your chest out and see how much your abs will benefit from the squat.</p>
<p>#3 &#8211; Now that we have performed a couple of classic weight exercise routines, this is the perfect time to introduce the Sit Up. This is the classic abdominal exercise and is most effective when performed right after the weight routine to stress the muscles that have just been exercised.</p>
<p>#4 &#8211; The military press is another good choice of weighted exercise for ab development. It also works the chest, arms and shoulders. To make it effictive for an ab exercise it must be performed while in a standing position, otherwise the strain goes to the legs if done in a sitting position. The benefit to the abdominals comes from the effort to maintain an upright and straight posture while pushing the weights from shoulder height to above your head.</p>
<p>#5 &#8211; The Leg Raise This one requires a small amount of equipment, but nothing that your local gym can&#8217;t provide. Another great exercise to end your routine with, the leg raise involved hanging from either a chin-up bar or a leg raise frame, and simply raising your legs to your waist, all the while keeping them perfectly straight and pointed. Save this one for the end of your routine &#8212; it&#8217;ll exhaust your stomach and leave your abs pumped.</p>

Try to grab them and make your body as long as possible in order to reach even the highest ones. Altogether this will shape your body and even increase your self esteem and spirit.</p>
<p>4. Stretch body as often as you can. Even a couple of minutes doing this will have a very beneficial effect. Just try out how pleasant you feel after doing this exercise. Furthermore doing it regularly will prevent you from suffering under stiff joints.</p>
<p>5. Cut down on unhealthy fats as much as you can, these make you feel so weighty that you will be less stimulated to do any physical action to lose them. If you consume fats select healthy ones like omega-3 fat acids.</p>
<p>6. Eat more protein instead of fat and carbohydrates, you need it in order to build up some muscles. Fat cannot very easily be transformed into protein.</p>
<p>7. Do some sports as free time in a club regularly. The team you are in will motivate you to do it more often then you could motivate yourself. You could for example start with dancing or just gymnastics, if you want to do something not so competitive.</p>
<p>8. Lift some weights, this is what you can do every day, if you do not have any time left for sports, you can still do it for five minutes. It is proven that very short sessions of sports also stabilize your blood sugar level.</p>
<p>9. Try out some mind body-exercises like Yoga, tai-chi or meditation. These kinds of exercises will let the blood flow through your whole body and simply release stress and anxiety. It will also stimulate energies to do more intense exercises later on.</p>
<p>10. Start to write down some goals regarding your fitness activity in order not to forget the things you just read. It is also important that you start with small goals. If you aim to achieve too much, you might lose courage soon. So just try to be realistic about what you can actually achieve. <p>Since mid-Fall TV commercials have been trumpeting the horrors of the &#8220;flu season&#8221;. &#8220;It&#8217;s never too soon to begin fighting this year&#8217;s bug&#8221; they blare. Public health announcements urge us to get our &#8220;yearly flu shot&#8221;, as if this is something we&#8217;ve got permanently scheduled in our Blackberries. All the leading over-the-counter pain medications offer special seasonal &#8220;flu&#8221; mixtures, and their ads deluge daytime and prime-time broadcasting.</p>
<p>For the health consumer it seems as if this annual &#8220;war on the flu&#8221; is received wisdom. We&#8217;re just defenseless human beings at the mercy of the all-powerful flu virus.</p>
<p>Whats wrong with this picture?</p>
<p>What&#8217;s never mentioned in the &#8220;flu warning&#8221; marketing is the versatility and adaptability of our remarkable immune system. We&#8217;re the lucky owners of a built-in state-of-the-art biowarfare system, on-the-job 24/7 to combat microscopic foreign invaders of our health and well-being. Once our immune system has detected a foreign protein it mounts an immediate defense, attacking and destroying the alien molecules. And, the memory of that particular invader is permanent, enabling a future immune response to be swift and effective.1</p>
<p>The big issue with influenza is that new strains appear each year. We&#8217;ve never encountered these germs before. But, the whole basis and strength of our immune system is flexibility. It is specially designed to respond quickly to new attackers. And, for the most part, it does this very, very well.</p>
<p>No one wants their dinner companion to sneeze in their plate of pasta, as Elaine did on an infamous episode of &#8220;Seinfeld&#8221;. Through a typical cascade of unfortunate events, Jerry&#8217;s and George&#8217;s comedy pilot was almost scuttled because the network executive was Elaine&#8217;s date, and he got violently ill by being on the receiving end of her blast of micro-bugs.</p>
<p>In the real world, our immune systems can be weakened due to life habits, circumstances, and stress. Stress is a notorious compromiser of immune defenses.2 And, of course, being human, there is plenty of stress from dawn to dusk. If worry and anxiety pile on top of not-enough-sleep or sub-optimal nutrition, getting sick is a pretty likely outcome. So, developing and maintaining healthy habits of living and successful strategies for managing stress is really the key.3</p>
<p>If you do the simple things that keep you healthy and well, in the winter months you can pretty much &#8220;let the flu go around you&#8221;. You can be confident, knowing you&#8217;ve done the work to fight off the latest flu threat. Someone else&#8217;s germs are their germs, not yours. If your immune system is on the job, you&#8217;re far less likely to &#8220;catch&#8221; something.</p>
<p>And, even if you do succumb, you have got a much better chance of getting well again quickly.</p>
