If you are anxious about seeing a new dentist or going to a new dental clinic where you do not know anyone, take the time to familiarize yourself with the staff and the office areas.

If you feel rushed and tense, your appointment may not go as well as you would want. Speak to your PA dentist about your medical history, any medications you take and allergies to medications, latex, or any dental products.

Arrive for your appointment early so you can go over notes of concerns you have, and even fill out paperwork so you get all of the time with the PA dentist and support staff that you need. Go over your fears, concerns and dental history. If you need X Rays and a cleaning, set aside as much time as you need. Speak to your PA dentist about what concerns you.

Discuss at length what you want done. And the work that you need done. If you want your teeth polished and whitened, talk about that. If you have fears about seeing the PA dentist, or a cleaning, than see what can be done to make your visit as comfortable as possible.

If you are anxious about seeing a new dentist or going to a new dental clinic where you do not know anyone, take the time to familiarize yourself with the staff and the office areas. If the staff are not busy, ask for a tour. If you are new patient or are an existing patient in a new clinic this can be very helpful to settle your fears.

During your visit focus on the care given to you by the well trained dental staff and support team. Visualize how much better your teeth will be, and what a beautiful smile you will have when the work is done. Plan your next visit before you leave is possible so you will be sure to keep it.
